illustration Friday... Angels and Devils

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
It's the duality that struck me; white and black, good and evil, love and lust... with the countenance of an angel, she danced like the devil. Swan Lake came to mind with the dual role of the yearning Odette and the conniving Odile. I came across this old photo of Tamara Toumanova, a baby ballerina of the Ballet Russes, as the white swan. My drawing doesn't do her justice and I really suck at drawing noses and hands. Flipped it with a rendition of her as the black swan, mirror images, the duality.

Lovely expressions on their faces!

And I do not think you suck at drawing hands. Or noses. They are simple,a nd work well with the drawing.
